Why Play Elite at Vegas United?
- by David Wren, Director of Coaching and Elite Coach
Elite at Vegas United has a strong foundation for success, we are highly motivated, and our focus is clear.
VU has a Strong Foundation for Success
You should play VU Elite because we have a strong foundation for success. At VU there are no politics and our practice location in Summerlin is easily accessible, on natural grass. While most clubs try to grow as many teams as they can while lacking to build an internal organization to support that growth, VU has done the opposite. They have been patiently waiting in the background building a positive, but competitive culture and an internal organization to support growth.
VU is extremely well organized behind the scenes with next level communication. I don’t know another club that communicates even close to how VU communicates with their members. Emails are sent out just when you need them. If you email VU a question they reply with an answer.
VU is Highly Motivated
You should play VU Elite because we are highly motivated to build a true Elite program that is stamped on the map. Not just anyone is invited. We have only one Elite team per age group. Each Elite team must be a committed, gold+ level team that has fun competing. We want to be successful on the field, but care more about developing our players. When we develop our players, the wins will come. We will be known not just for our record, but for how great our kids are.
What Defines an Elite Team at VU?
An Elite VU Team sets the culture standard for our club.
An Elite VU Team is a committed, gold+ level team that competes at the highest level.
This team sets the standard for our positive, but competitive culture. They strongly believe in our mission to develop kids first, players second. Players, and their parents, love that we care as much about teaching them how to be good people as we do teaching them how to be great players.
An Elite VU Team is committed.
This team commits to being a part of our VU Family on and off the field.
- For players, their commitment includes a 2.5 GPA or higher, 5 volunteer hours a season, practicing on average three times a week, being respectful to refs, playing against elite competition in local, regional, and national leagues and regular tournaments, showing up on time and ready to play.
- For parents, their commitment includes positive/competitive sideline behavior, being respectful to refs, supporting their kids' commitments and treating their coach with respect.
- Players and parents understand that failure to fulfill these will result in decreased play time, disciplinary action, and/or removal from the team.
An Elite VU Team is gold+ level.
Playing Elite at VU is earned. Not every "A" team at VU will earn Elite Status. This team competes consistently in State Cup with a full roster of at least two subs. This team competes in Desert Conference Premier League and USYS National Leagues.
An Elite VU Team competes.
This team exemplifies our "Always Improve" core value. They love to win but understand winning isn’t everything and it’s their development that matters most.
